As with the Northern Wild Flower portfolio, this notebook of paintings, text and photographs was created in 1948 as a gift. With a two-year old son sporting a broken leg and full cast, high-school student Richard Lottridge traveled with the Eiferts from Illinois to Wisconsin as a sometimes babysitter. As a thank-you for his services, this handmade book “Land of the Loon” notebook journal was created and presented to him by Virginia. Richard calls this “the best gift I ever received”.
